Science Olympiad Team Participates at State

Teamwork from both the JV and Varsity teams participated in the State Tournament April 22-23 at NC State. They started competing in events on Friday at 2:00 with the Opening ceremony parade of champions in which Freddy the Falcon  Murray's mascot marched along with the rest of the team. The kids were blown away by the keynote speaker Jason Latimer from Impossible Science! They hit the ground running the next morning to check in by 7:00am and then they were on their way to their first event at 8 am across campus. Events went all day, the last ones ending at 5 pm.

We were excited and honored to receive medals in 3 events. 7th place in Crimebusters and Write it, Do it with Sadie and Reese Ingram. Wyatt Lashford and Payton Tingley received 4th place in Solar Power. The team as a whole placed 27th out of 42 Middle Schools. Please congratulate them for their hard work this weekend and all year!
